LGH pediatric dept gets senior doctor

LAHORE:First time in the history of Lahore General Hospital/PGMI a gastroenterologist has been appointed in Department of Pediatrics, LGH. The Punjab government has created a new post of Associate Professor of Gastroenterology in Lahore General Hospital.

According to the details, Associate Professor Dr Hassan Suleman Malik has been posted on this new vacancy and he has assumed his responsibilities as well. Ameeruddin Medical College Principal Prof Dr Al-Fareed Zafar welcomed this appointment of Associate Professor Dr Hasan Suleman Malik on the new post and said that the step taken by the Punjab government for the LGH would certainly help to improve medical facilities for children's health.

Moreover, it will be helpful for dealing with diseases of stomach, intestines and there will be a significant increase in the treatment for better diagnostic, tests as endoscopy facilities will be available to them, which will make it easier for the children and their parents. Prof Al-Fareed said that all these facilities would be provided free-of-cost as per the existing policy of the Punjab government, which will provide more relief to the patients and their families. Principal PGMI congratulated Dr Hasan Suleman Malik.

It is noteworthy that Dr Hasan Suleman Malik is a senior pediatric Hematologist in addition to FCPS (Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hematology) while he is known as the first specialist in this field in Pakistan for CPSP.
