Will it last?
It seems that the PTI and its leader Imran Khan have been blown off-course by a storm of their own making. Imran relied too much on his popularity, forgetting that there are other factors that determine one’s fate. Tragically, most of his confidantes have buckled under the pressure or have gone underground. The resulting vacuum has been filled by too many lawyers, who appear to be taking advantage of the situation. They seem to lack political experience and are spoiling the broth for the PTI.
In this polarized atmosphere, the arrival of 2024 has brought some smiles to the faces of the citizens who were seen celebrating the New Year irrespective of their political affiliations. I hope this atmosphere endures during the elections and thereafter.
