Why May 9 rioters not being punished, asks Ashrafi
LAHORE: Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Pakistan said Sunday Pakistan is an ideological state based on the system of Khilafat-e-Rashida, and its stability and development depend on supremacy of justice, says Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi.
Speaking at Lahore Press Club, Ashrafi said it is very unfortunate that our justice system could not improve in the past 76 years. In a country where criminals attacking the defense institutions of the state are not punished, what will happen to the common man to get Justice? The Judiciary should give a fair decision on the perpetrators of May 9 incident, who attacked the defence installments.
Ashrafi questions why the perpetrators of May 9 incidents are not being punished. “If the culprits and perpetrators of May 9 incidents are not punished, who will punish these criminals?” he asked.
He says the country’s justice system has deteriorated, adding that the chief justice of Pakistan should reform the lower courts all over the country.
