Walk for Palestine
The brutality of Israel – its unending bombardment over unarmed Palestinians – can truly be described as genocide. At least 5,000 Palestinians have been killed, more than 1,000 injured, and tens of thousands have been forced to leave their homes and relocate to somewhere safe. Adding more to the grief is the fact those killed or injured are mostly children, women and senior citizens. The Palestinian people have endured decades of violence, displacement, and oppression, resulting in thousands of lives lost, attacks on civilians, and the destruction of essential infrastructure. The global response to the crisis is criticized for its silence, with calls for a response that goes beyond political interests to prioritize justice and concrete action. Academia should play its vital role in addressing this crisis, advocating for truth, justice, and accountability. It calls on the international community to prioritize humanity over political interests and encourages solidarity with Palestinians. Faculty members from the University of Karachi are taking an initiative to organize a protest walk on October 25, motivating students and civil society to join in support of peace and justice for Palestinians. Come join us.
