Acclaimed singer and actress Tara Mahmood has been in showbiz since 2004. She started her career as a singer and gave many hit songs like ‘Mere Naam’, ‘Tujhe Pata To Chalay’ and ‘Aye Na’. According to Tara, she was introduced to showbiz by Samina Ahmad and her son Zain Ahmad. She rose to prominence by playing supporting roles in films like ‘Seedlings’ (2012) and ‘Good Morning Karachi’ (2013). Her performance in drama serials ‘Muhabbat Subha Ka Sitara Hai’ (2014), ‘Diyar-e-Dil’ and ‘Jackson Heights’ (2015) earned her a wide spread acclaim. Tara joined the band Rushk in 2014 after five years long hiatus as its lead vocalist replacing Nazia Zuberi. She has also appeared in hit serial ‘Suno Chanda’ and its sequel ‘Suno Chanda 2’. These days she is showing her acting skills in popular drama serial ‘Deewar-e-Shab’ and her role as Shama is being appreciated by the viewers. How many dramas and fashion shows have you done so far?

Close to 20 serials, no fashion shows. But I have worked behind the scenes.

What is your most memorable drama serial to date?

I am truly blessed and lucky to have worked on great projects with the best people. But, most memorable has to be ‘Anaa’.

Flea markets across the globe.

What do you usually wear in daily life?

Whatever works but well put together.

What is your favourite thing in your closet right now?

Ripped blue jeans.

What is one cosmetic you cannot do without?

Mascara.

My two cats - Molly and Chipkoo.

Many.

Usually the dashing hero (Kidding).
