Decking up any space needs a lot of effort and of course aesthetics play an important part as well. You can fill out every inch of your house - from accessories, furniture to wall units, storage options and can even customize wall decor. The fact is that shopping for interior decor is a difficult task. However, with so many home stores opening up all around the country, life has become easy as such stores provide a one stop solution for those who do not want to hire a professional interior designer for decorating their place. Shopping surely becomes a pure pleasure when done in the right manner and Marina Home’s retail chain based in Dubai, is a premium home decor brand which has recently opened in Islamabad as well.

A touch of Zen

With three stories of floor space in the busy area of G6, Islamabad is the showroom, which offers one of the largest selections of furnishings, displayed with all its splendor. Upfront, giant size, cube glass see-through windows in rimmed black design invite everyone to peep inside. Outside, planters are placed for a lush green and fresh appeal that gives more definition and character to the space.

One gets the feeling that the design team has thoroughly thought about how most of us would decorate our homes with pieces that make a loud statement. It appears like a modern take on design with simple lines and solid craftsmanship giving off a Zen-like feel. The low roof with wrought iron rods gives off an industrial look. The ground floor has sturdy, concrete tiled flooring which leaves no room for distraction for the onlooker. As a result, one can only focus on the vast display of lighting fixtures, dining table settings and a strong emphasis on furniture pieces.

According to Rihana Rajput, Country Head Marina Home, “The home store is based on an aesthetically pleasing home fashion but for us the key to everything is visual merchandising which is very important for any given space. Our exotic and urban pieces stand out yet gel in any given setting. We have always thrived on its industrial look that we have carried from our stores abroad and have designed both our showrooms in Lahore and Islamabad on the same lines.”

A touch of Zen

Occupying three floors of a modern structure, the store interior has a vibe of a posh space and mix of artsy style elements. The staircase takes us on the first floor where one would find lighting fixtures deliberately placed to enhance the collection of art on display. Here the space is filled with chic design pieces and innovative hand crafted wooden sculptures. By paying close attention to small details such as quality finishing, partition walls, cleanliness and display areas, the element of surprise for customers is maintained.A touch of Zen

The multifunctional space is housed in a new structure; the retail store is sliced into separate enclosures by a series of separators bifurcated with wooden dividers, leading each area to another one. The walls are also treated the same way with wooden paneling and brick-finish. The most striking feature is how the light passes through the windows lighting up the main room instantly. The inspiring showroom, with the well placed merchandise segmented into open spaces is the sort of place where one finds the impeccable household knick knacks like hand painted murals, pop art, lantern lights, wooden worktops and table lamps.

“We have built our customer based designs and bespoke furniture amalgamating the contemporary with the traditional, sourced from other countries. Every season our collections are replaced for something trendier and edgier yet retaining class and affordability.  However, the great challenge was to create the ceiling of the store by combining multiple levels that brings a different ambience to every floor,” explains Shahzad Malik, Managing Director of the brand.

The best part is that they restock regularly which makes every visit worthwhile; moreover the friendly staff helps in finding the perfect bedroom accessory, wall art, book shelf decor, consoles, tables, planters, dining sets, sofas, desks, chests and a multitude of lifestyle wares etc.

By focusing on the various heights they have managed to create a visually stimulating interior that is texturally opulent and has a versatile product range. They have managed to remain true to the brand’s aesthetics with the perfect integration of class and latest trend.
