What sets your brand apart from competitors?

We’re not just a skincare brand; we’re a source of skin education on social media who genuinely want to address and solve our audiences skin concerns. We’re also eco-conscious, with 95 per cent of our packaging in recyclable glass and tin.

Does your brand promote empowerment and inclusivity for women?

We’re all about showcasing diverse women in Pakistan. Our feed features content creators with different skin types and tones. We promote skincare as self-care, encouraging confidence in one’s natural beauty. In our community, everyone is a ‘Queen.’

What has it been like to be a woman in a leadership position?

Leading in skincare as a woman is fulfilling yet challenging. Staying true to my vision, building a diverse support network, and focusing on competence over gender biases have been crucial. Promoting inclusivity shapes my leadership style, emphasising authenticity and collaboration in a historically male-dominated field.

Who are some female figures who inspire you?

My ultimate inspiration is my mom. She guided my education, emphasising financial independence and teaching life skills. Despite our privilege, she encouraged independence and supported all my endeavours, being a constant source of strength.

What has been your most career-defining moment?

One of the most pivotal moments in my career, and a source of immense pride, was the successful launch of our signature lab formulated skincare line which helped us move towards lab formulated products from only working on organic ones initially. This moment not only marked a significant milestone for the company but also solidified my belief in the transformative power of dedicated work and a passion for creating meaningful products.

What challenges have you faced in the work filed?

Navigating leadership perceptions is challenging, balancing assertiveness without being labelled aggressive. Achieving work-life balance is tough due to societal expectations on women. Limited access to networking and mentorship hinders career growth. To tackle these challenges, I emphasise gender equality, foster a supportive workplace, and actively seek mentorship and allies for guidance and overcoming obstacles.

Does your organisation promote gender equality?

Our organisation is committed to promoting gender equality as a core value. We see it as both ethically right and strategically beneficial. Embracing diversity drives innovation, boosts business performance, and creates a positive company culture. Beyond morality, it helps us attract top talent and meet the diverse needs of our customers, making it a crucial element of our organisational strength and resilience.

Are you working on any exciting new projects?

Exciting projects are underway, focusing on advanced formulations and sustainability to redefine skincare. We’re developing serums and sunscreen, planning to offer an affordable, all-encompassing range for a one-stop skincare solution.

What is the overall brand message and image you aim to convey?

We’re all about inclusive beauty and embracing individuality. Our mission is to empower through authenticity, transparency, and quality. As your skincare ally, we redefine beauty standards with a focus on self-love and inclusivity.

What are the main issues, in your eyes, are being faced by Pakistani women today?

Pakistani women face challenges like limited education access, cultural constraints, and societal expectations hindering professional growth. Navigating gender biases, entering male-dominated fields, and balancing traditional norms with career goals are common obstacles. My advice: use education for empowerment, seek mentorship, challenge stereotypes, and advocate for gender equality. Embrace resilience, build a supportive community, and believe in the power of self-confidence and self-care. As a skincare entrepreneur, I stress financial independence. To women starting their careers, stay confident, know your worth, and don’t compromise values for opportunities.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I start the day off with my corporate 10-6. I’m usually home by 7, after which I unwind a little. Next, I work on my business and plan ahead for the coming days. Weekends I’m usually out with my family and friends and take that time to fully enjoy.

How do you balance work and personal life?

Balancing my business and corporate career can be challenging, but my passion for the business keeps me going. Operating from home provides the flexibility to effectively manage both aspects of my life, maintaining a balance between personal and professional commitments.

Your philosophy of life:

Do good and good will come to you

How do you unwind after a tedious day?

By reading a book or watching a show.

What is your most treasured possession?

A ring my mom gave me for my 16th birthday. I have worn it every day since.

What is the biggest relationship lesson you have learnt so far?

To not waste your time trying to make people see you in a positive light, they will only see you the way they can comprehend. Give effort where it’s reciprocated.

What are your future plans in terms of expansion of your work?

I look forward to growing our online platform and building a community and to also make our products easily available.
