Are there any guidelines that I should follow to get published in Poets’ Corner?

Dear Eddy,

‘Crown jewels’ was an interesting article. It makes me wonder how wealthy these royals have become after plundering other lands. Please publish interactive pieces that educate our youth about how tyrannical the British rulers were in the past.

Hi Ed,

Poets’ Corner is my favourite section. I also write poetry in my daily diary. Some poems are personal that I don’t want to share with anyone, but I also write poems that I want other people to read. I post those poems on my social media, but I don’t get a good response because most of my friends are not interested in literary stuff, so I would love to send my poems to Us magazine. Are there any guidelines that I should follow to get published in Poets’ Corner?

Hi Muiz, it is great that you love Poets’ Corner and want to share your poems with our readers. There are no specific guidelines; all you have to do is write poems on topics that are relevant to our audience. Poems shouldn’t be kiddish and we would appreciate it if they are not on depressing themes. Send your poems to uspoetscorner@gmail.com.

Hi Ed,

I enjoy reading Comic Relief section. I would recommend that you add more comics to the page. But, sometimes, I don’t find comics funny, so please do something about this as well. Garfield comics are so basic and the character Garfield is only obsessed with food, which is not funny at all.

Salam Editor,

I never watch tennis, but I know how awesome Roger Federer and Serena Williams are as sportspeople. They have inspired people from all walks of life to work hard and become masters of their craft. So kudos to Muhammad Nabeel for penning down such an amazing article to celebrate the illustrious career of Federer and Williams. And how true is this statement: “Tennis will never be the same with the retirement of two of its greatest champions!”

Dear Editor,

I am a fan of Poets’ Corner, and I admire our young poets who make this section such a joy to read. Ed, can you also start a small segment on poets? Some interesting facts about the lives of famous poets would, in my opinion, be a good addition to the page.

Reflection

Narrated Ibn Abbas (R.A)

The Prophet (S.A.W) sent Mu`adh to Yemen and said, "Invite the people to testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and I am Allah's Messenger (S.A.W), and if they obey you to do so, then teach them that Allah has enjoined on them five prayers in every day and night (in twenty-four hours), and if they obey you to do so, then teach them that Allah has made it obligatory for them to pay the Zakat from their property and it is to be taken from the wealthy among them and given to the poor."
