I would say that sifting through the thousands of recipes is very time consuming when there is always an assignment to make, a project to complete....

Hey Ed,

I loved the cover story’ The Eid engagement and other weddings’ episode 10! Iqra knows how to keep us entertained with the light banter that her characters engage in. It’s fun to read and is quite amusing. I am also missing the art that used to be on back cover. Pictures that make the back cover are interesting and I have nothing against photography, but original art work should be encouraged. I have just one complain, Ed: my greeting was not published! Rest is cool!

Dear Ed,

I am an old reader in terms of years, not age! I started reading when I was a seventh grader and now I am a university student. I have read, during all these years, all the celebrated writers that contributed to Us and appreciated their art and craft. So when I sometimes read letters about a few of them, I can’t help thinking that it has always been Us’ way to introduce new talent. True, all writers have their particular flair, but that goes for our new writers as well. Even if the writers of old read their first write-ups they would see the difference in their style of writing in their later works. Just want to say to readers that we have a great talent and I am sure we will never run out of good writers.

Hi Ed,

No recipes for some time now, why? I have benefitted from the simple recipes that you gave us and now feel adventurous - and also prepared - to try a little more complex stuff. I wouldn’t mind cooking, you know! So please continue to publish interesting recipes. And before anyone can holler that they are all available on the net, I would say that sifting through the thousands of recipes is very time consuming when there is always an assignment to make, a project to complete. And talking about academics, I would like to commend you for publishing articles on science and technology by ‘new writers’. Fun and games sort of articles are fine, but a youth magazine needs serious stuff too.

Reflection

Narrated Abu Said (R.A)

Allah's Apostle (S.A.W) said, "Noah and his nation will come (on the Day of Resurrection and Allah will ask (Noah), "Did you convey (the Message)?' He will reply, 'Yes, O my Lord!' Then Allah will ask Noah's nation, 'Did Noah convey My Message to you?' They will reply, 'No, no prophet came to us.' Then Allah will ask Noah, 'Who will stand a witness for you?' He will reply, 'Muhammad and his followers (will stand witness for me).' So, I and my followers will stand as witnesses for him (that he conveyed Allah's Message)." That is, (the interpretation) of the Statement of Allah: "Thus we have made you a just and the best nation that you might be witnesses Over mankind ..." (2.143)
