Carefully drop a few battered potato slices in the heated oil and deep fry for about 1 to 2 minutes....

Chocolate delight

Ingredients

  • 1 family pack Marie Biscuit
  • 100 grams butter
  • 1 cup sugar - granulated
  • 2 eggs
  •  ½ cup cocoa powder
  • Optional serving accompaniments:
  • 1 litre ice cream - (chocolate or vanilla flavor)
  • few nuts to garnish
  • 4 pieces brownie

Instructions

1. Grease 6" round dish with butter. Keep aside.

2. Roughly break Marie biscuit into small pieces.

3. In a sauce pan, beat sugar and butter until well combined. Then add two eggs and beat again. Now, mix in cocoa powder.

4. Heat the chocolate sauce on low heat very carefully until sugar is dissolved.

5. Add Marie biscuit in chocolate sauce and mix well till biscuit chunks are well-coated with sauce.

6. Put the cake mixture in the greased baking dish and refrigerate for at least three hours. Cold cake is ready.

7. Slice the cake with sharp knife into pieces and serve each piece with a scoop of ice cream.

8. Or crumble fudge brownie and add a layer on top of cold cake. Now separate bottom from pan and add a layer of ice cream scoops on top and serve.

Tip:

If you are a new ‘chef’, don’t heat the sauce mixture on direct flame. Instead, in a pan, boil some water, and put your saucepan with sauce mixture on top of the pan. Then, cook the sauce till sugar dissolves.

Batter fried potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • A couple of pinches of chili powder
  • ½ tsp chat masala (optional)
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • Water as needed
  • Enough oil to cover the bottom of a medium pan

Instructions

1. Scrub or peel potatoes.

2. Slice them. Slices should be of uniform thickness for frying.

3. In frying pan or saucepan, heat the oil.

4. Whisk flour, salt, pepper, chili powder, and baking powder together in a bowl. Stir lukewarm water into flour mixture, until it has a thick pancake-batter consistency.

5. Coat potato slices.

6. Carefully drop a few battered potato slices in the heated oil and deep fry for about 1 to 2 minutes.

7. After 1 to 2 minutes, then turn the slices over and continue to fry for another 1 minute.

8. You can check for doneness by carefully sticking a fork into the potato. If the prongs of the fork go easily into the potato, they are done. Remove from the oil and place them onto a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

9. Serve with ketchup or dipping sauce of your choice.
