The government should eliminate child marriage in Balochistan by creating awareness about its effects on the health of girls....
Dear Editor,
I was really shocked when it came to my knowledge that in Balochistan a large number of marriages are solemnized before the age of 18. The prevalence of child marriage is high in Balochistan. Child marriage is a violation of human rights and it negatively influences the children’s right to education, health and protection. The government should eliminate child marriage in Balochistan by creating awareness about its effects on the health of girls.

Dear Ed,
I must praise the last couple of editions of Us. The cover of 26 May highlighted the very important issue of vaccine hesitancy in Pakistan (Vaccine hesitancy: unshackling perceptions, 26 May issue). Only education can remove misconceptions, so government should start sustainable awareness campaigns. I loved the cover story ‘A night on the town’ by Sameen Amer (May 19). Lahore has beautiful architectural heritage that needs to be preserved, but this is a broader problem true for all such historical places in Pakistan. We can only hope the treasure trove we have is preserved for our future generations. Oh, I almost forgot to point out that Eid Engagement’s new episode is overdue.

Dear Ed,
Goodbye Vienna by Abid Agha in last ‘Poets Corner’ (2 June) was cute, and I loved it. I like ‘Poets’ Corner’ in general, but this light-hearted poem was most enjoyable.
