After launching Pakistan’s first Climate Change Animated Series last month in honor of International Climate Change Awareness Day, SOC Films has launched the second animated short film from the series.

The second part highlights the science behind global warming, the rising sea levels and the pollution that is caused by products human beings consume.

The animated series has been conceptualized, produced and directed by SOC Films, led by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and is a public awareness campaign that aims to educate people about the importance of climate change and global warming. Each short film from the series is in Urdu with English subtitles and is two to three minutes long.

“Understanding the science behind global warming is the first step towards change,” Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy wrote on her official Instagram handle.

“In this second part to our 5-part series, we explore why our sea levels are rising and the pollution caused by the products we consume. SOC Films would like to join hands with those seeking to create greater awareness about climate change and global warming. By releasing these animated films in Urdu to inform everyone about the small steps we can take as individuals to make a positive collective change,” she added. With recent scientific findings speculating the rise of annual global temperatures heading towards 3°C, it is important for every citizen of the country to take responsibility for the products they use and the rate at which they consume them.
