The Cola wars are almost over as Pepsi Battle of the Bands 3 has concluded and Coke Studio 11 is gearing up to do the same. We can now not only look back on the music shows and see what we’ve learned but also focus on music and artists, many of whom will continue to shine despite no real platform as prominent as Coke Studio or Pepsi for that matter.

The Sketches, who returned to Coke Studio with the serene and powerful ‘Dastaan-e-Moomal Rano’ this year and produced the music for Pakistan’s Oscar entry for the year 2019, Asim Abbasi’s Cake, are looking to make the most of it.

As Saif Samejo wrote on Twitter, “We’re all set to release 3 new music videos from October to December. We’ve been working on new audio songs at the same in studios as well as producing music for upcoming film Jugnu and its songs are already recorded. I hope very soon you will be experiencing more music from @sketchesart.”

Jugnu is an upcoming film being produced by Jamshed Mahmood Raza, better known as director Jami (Moor) and directed by Ali Abbas Naqvi.

As for The Sketches, the founder of the group and front-man, Saif Samejo is also the founder of Lahooti Melo, a music, arts, culture and dance festival that had a successful third run in Hyderabad earlier this year and managed to feature a diverse line-up while at it. Samejo is also featured in Indus Blues, an award-winning documentary on Pakistan’s diminishing folk instruments, the many stories of traditional folk artists/craftsmen and their struggles that has been directed by Jawad Sharif. He has also founded Lahooti Ashram, Lahooti Live Sessions as well and was featured in Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s VR documentary, Look But with Love.
