Karachi-based designer Syeda Amera, who’s been in the business of fashion since 2008, made headlines last month for showcasing her collection titled ‘Beaded Illusion’ at the J Winter Fashion Show 2018 in Hong Kong, featuring renowned model and fashion producer Jessica Minh Anh.

And quite recently Syeda Amera has been honoured with the Women Empowerment Inspiring Achiever’s Award 2018 in California. She was also the recipient of last year’s Women Empowerment Award, which was presented to Amera by Shilpa Shetty. This time round the reigning Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar, gave away the Global Women Empowerment Award 2018 to the talented young designer. Held every year, the event brings together like-minded female entrepreneurs with the aim of recognizing, honouring and empowering those who have excelled in their respective fields.
Syeda Amera has achieved great international recognition in a short span of time. Her many achievements include being featured in British Vogue, Glamour UK and ELLE UK, and is said to have completely changed the game when it comes to international shows. Syeda Amera has shared the runway with different designers from all over the world, showcasing her designs at exotic venues like Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower and Sydney’s famous Harbor Bridge; and most recently the sundeck of Costa neoRomantica cruise ship overlooking Hong Kong’s picturesque skyline.
