For quite some time now, speculations have been doing rounds that superstar Salman Khan is having a cold war with Arijit Singh. Various reports suggest that Salman Khan got Arijit’s voice removed from a song that was meant to feature in the film, Welcome to New York.

The Tiger Zinda Hai actor, who has a cameo in the upcoming film, is said to have removed Arijit’s version of the song ‘Ishtehaar’ and replaced it with that of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The situation has even been compared to the Sultan dispute two years ago when Arijit had requested Khan to retain his version of ‘Jag Ghoomeya’.

However, in a recent interview with The Indian Express, producer Vashu Bhagnani has denied all such claims and revealed, “I saw all this on TV and online and was so confused as to what was happening. Arijit Singh never sang for Welcome to New York in any capacity and this can be checked. He never sang a scratch either.” He continued, “Shamir (Tandon), the composer of the song and I were interested in a certain texture of voice and Rahat suited it perfectly. So we asked him. If Arijit didn’t sing, how can anyone remove his voice?”

Welcome to New York has an all-star cast with Diljit Dosanjh, Sonakshi Sinha, Karan Johar, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani and Riteish Deshmukh in pivotal roles. The film is slated to release on February23.
