The upcoming Mad Decent Block Party scheduled to take place on February 3 in Islamabad has several attractions to look forward to. While it will feature an interesting lineup of local and international artists, it also aims to raise funds against child sexual abuse.
The upcoming Mad Decent Block Party scheduled to take place on February 3 in Islamabad has several attractions to look forward to. While it will feature an interesting lineup of local and international artists, it also aims to raise funds against child sexual abuse.
The performances include Major Lazer (of ‘Lean On’ fame), Adil Omar and Talal Qureshi, Chrome Sparks, and Baloch rap group Lyari Underground among many others. And if reports are to be believed, part of the sales from the event will be donated to Sahil – an NGO working for the safety of children against child sexual abuse – as a tribute to victim of recent Kasur incident, Zainab.
Coming back to the artists, Major Lazer took to Twitter to announce the initiative: “TIX ON SALE TMRW W/ PART OF SALES GOING TO http://SAHIL.ORG FOR ZAINAB ANSARI.”
Mad Decent is a record label managed by electronic musician Diplo, who has been arranging the Block Party at various locations globally each year. This year, they chose the Pakistani capital as the venue, given the bustling electronic scene in the country. We’re sure you wouldn’t want to miss out on it.
