We are all used to seeing Nicole Kidman being her usual classy self in real life while usually depicting the characters of a mother or a wife on the big screen. The Rabbit Hole, Before I Go to Sleep and Lion are all terrific films but show Kidman as the doting wife or mother and we are a little tired of seeing her play a variation of the same old thing.

Thanks to her new film though, we’ll soon be seeing the star in a completely different avatar, which will be pretty edgy compared to her past projects.

The actress will be transforming into a punk in How to Talk to Girls at Parties, a sci-fi rom-com.

The trailers of the film show Kidman as a leader of sorts, urging her followers to start a punk revolution. “Rise up my children,” she screams in the trailer while displaying her new punk look which consists of heavy liner and lots of leather.

The film is based on a short story of the same name, which is penned by author Neil Gaiman and revolves around some teenage boys who fall in love with extraterrestrial girls. Gaiman also has another adaptation coming up in the form of a TV series called American Gods. Back to the film, it is being helmed by John Cameron and stars Kidman alongside Elle Fanning and Alex Sharp.
