We don’t blame production houses who want to make a film on this extremely popular children’s book, written by Roald Dahl back in 1964. The book resonated with children all over the world and is a hot favourite even today.

We don’t blame production houses who want to make a film on this extremely popular children’s book, written by Roald Dahl back in 1964. The book resonated with children all over the world and is a hot favourite even today.

Therefore, a third film is in the works that is based on this book. According to E! News, Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to Willy Wonka from the Roald Dahl Estate and is beginning to plan a new movie centered around the unforgettable character. The studio had been busy trying to lock down the rights since the beginning of the year and have finally been successful.

As most people already know, the book has already been adapted twice, once in 1971 starring the late Gene Wilder, who passed away in August this year. The second adaptation, starring Johnny Depp, was released in 2005 and both films received worldwide acclaim.

While further details of the project are not yet available, such as the release date and cast, what we do know is the fact that the film will not be an origin tale, but a standalone movie focused on Willy Wonka and his early adventures, as reported by Variety.
