Riding high on the success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, director Kabir Khan and superstar Salman Khan are all set for their third collaboration. Tentatively titled Tubelight, the film has a unique element attached to it as one would expect of a Kabir Khan film. Salman, who has started shooting for the film, will be essaying the role of a man-child in the film.

Salman, who has started shooting for the film, will be essaying the role of a man-child in the film.
“The actor plays a man-child, who is a bit slow in picking and learning many things,” a source close to the film told Times of India. “It would be the first time in his career when Salman would play a ‘special’ role where he doesn’t do the usual thing or play to the gallery. Kabir has taken special effort to make sure that the character is presented sensitively in the film,” the source added.
It is also said that the title refers to Salman’s character in the film as he is called the ‘Tubelight’. And as far as the story of the film goes, reports suggest that it’s a cross border love story set in the ‘60s against the backdrop of Indo-China war where an Indian guy falls in love with a girl from China.
While we aren’t sure who is going to be the female lead in the films as the makers have not made any official announcement as yet, word has it that Deepika Padukone might be roped in to play the role of Salman’s leading lady in Tubelight.
