Actress Mawra Hocane, who has a number of hit TV plays under her belt (Main Bushra, Maryam, etc.), made her Bollywood debut with Sanam Teri Qasam earlier this year and managed to amass a large fan following on both sides of the border for her performance. Even though the film sank without a trace and received mixed reviews, Hocane was praised for her acting by the audience and even critics.

With a penchant to travel (she was recently spotted in Berlin with family), Hocane is willing to work in all corners of the world and doesn’t want to restrict herself to any one territory.
“I just want to keep working, be it films in India or abroad,” the actress said in a recent interview to the Indian media. “I don’t want to plan anything. I like to take things as they come, especially when it comes to my career. I am willing to take up good work.”
Talking about work further, Hocane revealed that though she has received offers for a couple of projects, nothing has been finalized.
“I am reading scripts at the moment and finalizing details,” Hocane said. “I am open to working in all genres and don’t want to limit myself by looking for work in a particular type of film.”
However, she also expressed a desire to work in a period drama. “I want to take up something like Umrao Jaan, basically period dramas,” she confessed. “I love them on screen and it would be interesting to act in one.”
In addition to talking about her own projects, Hocane also revealed that she admires the work of Priyanka Chopra and wants to follow in her footsteps. “I love Priyanka Chopra’s style of work and would love to follow her career path,” Hocane concluded.
