When the news of Salman Ahmed’s Rhythm tune came our way, we predicted it would be amusing. However, when the actual song ‘Kaise Bolun’ released, we observed that after initial amusement, you realise that both the video (featuring the cast of the film alongside Ahmed) and the single are, in a word, atrocious. It’s not just a bad song; this is easily one of the worst songs to release in the modern day music history. At one point, Salman Ahmed sings: “I’m in love, soul to soul’ which is a reminder that even the poetry of this song (if you can even call it that) is just off. No one really knows what possessed Salman Ahmed – the man behind some of Junoon’s timeless melodies – to do a song as sub moronic as this.

Ahmed’s former band mate and Pakistan’s very own Freddie Mercury, Ali Azmat has now shared his two cents on this stunning (hint sarcasm) tune. Taking to Twitter, Azmat who has reinvented himself as a credible, worthy musician with two beautiful solo albums and several singles to his name, said on the subject: “There is no reunion on the cards I need some time to get over #soultosoul”.

Brutal and decimating, yes, but we couldn’t agree more. The story, however, doesn’t end there. Salman Ahmed, perhaps as a response, tweeted: “@RealAliAzmat loves me #soultosoul :)” and Azmat responded in kind, saying on Twitter: “@sufisal I do love you bro for we shared great years together and memories wow so many”. Linking to Azmat’s rare display of love, Ahmed further stated: “Junoon, Ishq, Qurbani = #soultosoul luv u 2 bro!”
