CHRISTCHURCH: Australian right-wing extremist Brenton Tarrant, who shot dead over 50 Muslims in attacks on two mosques in Christchurch in New Zealand, had visited Pakistan last year.
According to a foreign registration card circulating on social media, Brenton Tarrant visited Skardu, Pakistan and staged at a hotel there on October 17, 2018.
Tarrant visited Pakistan on tourist visa.
One of the right-wing extremists, who called Muslims terrorists, committed terrorism against Muslims in otherwise peaceful New Zealand.
Armed with semi-automatic weapons, the terrorist rampaged through two mosques in the quiet New Zealand city of Christchurch during afternoon Jumma, killing 51 worshippers and wounding dozens more.
The attacker live-streamed footage of him going room-to-room, victim to victim, shooting the wounded from close range as they struggled to crawl away.
A 28-year-old Australian-born man has been arrested and charged with murder.
