If you grew up in the fantasy world of Aladdin, buckle up to go on a trip to nostalgia as the highly anticipated first-look into the live-action film of Aladdin has now been unveiled.
The teaser dropped in on Sunday premiering at the Grammys, also seemed to appease those fans disgruntled with the initial appearance of Genie shown in the poster, as he returns to his much-recognized blue self in the teaser.
Speaking about playing the Genie in the live-action remake, Will Smith had stated earlier: “There’s a little bit less mimicking. The thing that will be the major addition from me playing the Genie is the hip-hop base. I think that’ll be fun for people. I think it’ll stand out as unique even in the Disney world. There hasn’t been a lot of that hip-hop flavour in Disney history.”
The filmed directed by Guy Ritchie is starring Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott in the lead roles alongside Smith.
Produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, the film will hit theaters on May 24, 2019.
