HANGZHOU: China has developing surveillance cameras that are capable of identifying citizens wherever they are. It is able to recognize gender, estimated age group, clothes and their color. Chinese tech companies are working with the Chinese government to build a database to recognize citizens within seconds.
The system will be able to read people through facial recognition technology because everybody in China is given a national id card at the age of 16 which brings their information in the system.
The usability of the camera is incredible in identifying ‘wanted’ individuals. The surveillance system is able to track vehicles and their colours too.
With 20 million CCTV cameras placed across the city, Chinese are set to turn fiction into reality through this artificial intelligence technology.
