Cordial meeting with Nawaz paves way for Hashmi’s entry into PML-N
ISLAMABAD: Senior politician Javed Hashmi called on PML-N President Nawaz Sharif at the Punjab House and discussed current political situation in the country and his possible rejoining.
Upon arrival Hashmi was warmly welcomed by the elder Sharif and daughter Maryam Nawaz, the latter saying ‘Welcome Back in Home’ on the occasion.
Also present at the meeting were Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Senator Pervez Rasheed and Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.
Hashmi also inquired about Begum Kulsoom Nawaz’s health and prayed for her speedy recovery.
According to sources, PML-N’s 27-member new Central Executive Committee is scheduled to hold its first meeting today, where it will pay tribute to Hashmi's services towards politics and for the party. It is also likely that the veteran politician will be offered to join the party again.
Hashmi quit PML-N in 2011 and joined Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He contested NA-149 seat on PTI’s ticket but later parted ways over differences with the party during 2014 dharna.
