1,200 years old Ginkgo tree still bears fruit in China

BEIJING: A 1,200 years old Ginkgo tree in China’s southeast province Fujian is still thriving and bearing fruit, it has been observed.

The tree is found in Huajia village of Jiaoyang township. The village is home to two ginkgo bilobate trees that still produce seeds in spite of thousand years of age.

This ginkgo tree has seen many dynasties come and go, and nowadays attracts hundreds of visitors, Xinhua reported.
