Sara Bareilles spills raw truth behind devastating pregnancy loss
The Grammy-winning artist opens up about her recent fertility struggle in a new interview
Sara Bareilles has lifted the lid on her painful fertility experience as she suffered a miscarriage last year.
The 46-year-old singer, who has been vocal about her fertility journey, recently revealed that after undergoing several IVF rounds with husband Joe Tippett, she faced a tragic pregnancy loss.
Recalling the painful experience, the two-time Grammy-winning artist told The New York Times newspaper that "it sucks" to go through the experience of losing a pregnancy.
And that she "wished" she "didn’t have a miscarriage.”
The Love Song hitmaker also noted that she is grateful for not being pregnant after a dark phase as this era of her life “would be really, really, really hard” if she was carrying a child.
Sara previously talked about the gruesome experience of fertility treatment and how demanding it can be.
She said on the Zach Show last month, "The amount of time you spend in these clinics, and it's like blood draws, and sometimes you're going in three, four times a week, and they're checking hormone levels, and you're getting your medications, and you're sticking yourself with needles, and you're on these crazy drugs."
The Girls5Eva star remarked that the IVF rounds come with a "sense of surrender and powerlessness.
