iPhone 18 Pro colours leak, 14-second Clip goes viral

Two days before Apple's launch, a 14-second video is splitting the Apple press corps down the middle. Posted by Korean tipster yeux1122 on the Naver platform, it shows what looks like retail demo units of the iPhone 18 Pro Max in Dark Cherry and the iPhone 18 Pro in a lighter blue, sitting next to an iPhone 17 Pro Max for comparison.

The video clip in question is relatively short and rather mundane at first sight, showing a hand holding the Dark Cherry Pro Max along with the light blue Pro that sits on a stand next to it.

In terms of their appearance, neither of these phones deviates significantly from the previous year’s iPhone 17 Pro, which is consistent with the rumours about Apple’s desire to use different finishes for this lineup.

Macworall, which broke the Dark Cherry name back in April, argues the timing makes sense. Retailers typically receive demo units before a launch event, and it would be unusual but not implausible for footage to leak just ahead of an announcement.

Both colours also line up with a string of earlier reports pointing to Dark Cherry, Sky Blue, Black and Silver as this generation's lineup.

Convincing dummy units are trivially easy to source, something reporters who attended IFA this year confirmed firsthand after finding realistic-looking fakes at nearly every case-maker's booth.

The store setup in the video also raises questions: an unusually small display table, product tags that appear loose rather than properly mounted, and almost no recognisable retail background.

Yeux1122 has a real leak history, but recent posts have leaned more on aggregating Chinese social media chatter than on original sourcing.
