Gwen Stefani is sharing the sad news that her longtime dog, Betty, has passed away at age 18.

The singer took the news to Instagram on Saturday with a collection of cherished memories over the years, featuring her dog, Betty, husband, Blake Shelton, and their family.

"It's with the heaviest hearts that we share our sweet betty has gone to heaven," Gwen wrote alongside broken-heart, dove and paw-print emojis.

"She made us all smile for 18 years… we're going to miss her forever. thank u betty for all the love + joy u brought into our lives."

Photos and videos showed Betty relaxing around their Oklahoma property, and being part of everyday family moments.

Betty had been part of the couple's relationship since early on, originally belonging to Shelton before becoming especially close with Stefani over time. The dog even appeared in the music video for one of the couple's popular duets, Nobody But You, showing glimpses of their life together at home.

Just weeks before sharing the news of Betty's passing, Stefani had posted footage of herself and the dog joining Shelton at a recent music festival performance.

This loss comes not long after Stefani and Shelton celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary earlier this summer. The couple originally met while working together as coaches on a television singing competition and got married in 2021 after dating for several years.
