Kanye West Russian concert promoter sends message to fans after stadium bombshell

Kanye West's reputation for turning the music scene upside down is already well-known. His latest tour of Russia, for example.

The announcement itself came as a shock to many, as it would have made him the first major Western musician to perform in a European country after the Ukraine invasion.

However, the story did not end there.

Less than a week after the announcement, the Grazprom venue set to host him said the show would not happen.

Confusion spread, and fans who seemed to buy tickets in bulk were left scratching their heads and some frustrated.

Unclear what the status is of the shows set to take place on October 10 and 11 in St. Petersburg, Say Agency released a statement.

As the organizers of Ye's concert, the company spoke out to clarify the situation and end confusion.

"Friends, we see your questions and how upset you are about yesterday's news," the agency said.

Assuring fans, the Moscow-based promoter stated, "We hasten to assure you that the concert has not been canceled."

Concluding the statement, the Say agency urged fans not to react to what it calls 'information leaks.'

"All preparations are proceeding as usual, and the dates are still available on the artist's official website," the statement read.

Gazprom Arena, however, did not budge.

"There is no such agreement. Therefore, the concert cannot take place at our venue," said the reps of Gazprom Arena.

So far, confusion remains, as West himself has not spoken about the controversy over his shows in Russia.
