King Charles defies the British people for Prince Harry's sake: 'A very unwise move for a monarch'
King Charles gets a strict reminder of ‘who he serves’ and who props him up
There isn’t been a single word, statement or comment about the coming arrival of Prince Harry back on British soil and one expert is perplexed about what kind of doom it might spell.
For those unversed, while the Firm is known for having a ‘stiff British upper lip’ and not responding to most comments, there have been rare occasions where they have commented against the Duke of Sussex’ claims. The first being the Queen’s comment that “recollections may warry”. Another came from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s camp when racist allegations were made.
However, this time around, despite the monumental nature of this return sparking widespread shock no verbal confirmation has come.
To European Editor-at-Large Tom Sykes this may prove to be a hint to potential disaster.
He worked through it all in his piece for the Daily Beast and it saw him say, “it’s very telling that we haven’t heard anything at all from William and Catherine. Not a peep! Perhaps they were encouraged by the fact that Harry’s spokespeople are now saying he might only be back in the U.K. for three months?”
However, the second possibility is where he shared his fears and that’s by mentioning ‘the other possibility’ which
we cannot rule out’ in his mind because it feeds rumours that “the King is much sicker than we have been led to believe,” and “that this is why Harry is coming home.”
However that wasn’t the end of this speculation because e also pondered the idea that even though “I personally don’t think the King is at the end of his life,” but “I don’t think he is averse to letting the populace think he is as cover.”
Either way Mr Sykes added, “there needs to be crystal clear, on-the-record communication from the King’s office. Charles has gone too far down the road of transparency to retreat now into the sort of myth that surrounded his mother, Queen Elizabeth—that she was never going to die, that she was somehow immortal. Otherwise, the King looks weak—and the British public will not tolerate it.”
Moreover, he also said, “the final straw for many would surely come when the Sussexes arrive at Heathrow and are met by a police escort. It would be outrageous.” Another thing he pointed out is the dangerous consequences King Charles is toying with for the sake of his child because “defying the people is a very unwise move for a monarch.”
