Is Claude down? Thousands of users report outage

Claude is down for users, with reports of a widespread Claude outage affecting the AI platform and its coding service. According to Downdetector, 39% of reported problems are linked to Claude Code, while 33% concern Claude Chat and 19% involve the app.

Multiple users have also taken to social media to report that they are unable to access Claude or use the AI assistant for work.

Claude outage details

According to Anthropic's status page, it is still working on fixing the problem of elevated errors that are impacting many different models, such as Mythos 5, Fable 5, Opus 5, Opus 4.8, and many other models. 

Similarly, it can be seen that the outage of Claude is impacting many different aspects of the system, such as the Claude app, API, Claude Code, and Cowork.

Users attempting to send a prompt are being shown a message stating, “Due to unexpected capacity constraints, Claude is unable to respond to your message. Try again soon. For higher limits.”

The disruption is particularly frustrating for users relying on Claude for work, with one user on social media saying they were “working in the middle of a project” when they received a notification that the service was busy.

The latest incident adds to a series of outages and service disruptions Claude has faced in recent months.
