BigXthaPlug performs day after arrest on multiple charges

Rapper BigXthaPlug was recently arrested in Texas on several charges including driving while intoxicated, drug possession, and unlawful firearm possession, marking his second arrest in the Dallas area exactly one year after a similar incident.

Local police said the 28-year-old artist, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was arrested in a Dallas suburb on Friday. He was booked into county jail and faced several misdemeanor charges. Details surrounding the arrest have not been fully released.

Despite the arrest, BigX was released in time to perform a scheduled concert in Iowa the next day. He had originally been scheduled to headline a music festival in Canada that same weekend, but organisers announced he would be unable to perform due to a personal emergency.

At his Iowa performance, BigX addressed the arrest directly with the crowd. “They didn’t think I was coming,” he also told the audience, per USA Today. 

“When I was in Collin County, I was praying hard. I was like, ‘Please let me make it to Des Moines, Iowa,’” he recalled. 

He also referenced the arrest in a social media post promoting new music, using his mugshot as the thumbail.

This latest arrest comes one year after BigX was previously arrested in the same area on charges related to marijuana possession and firearm possession, shortly after hosting an album release event. 

He also faced a separate arrest in early 2025 related to marijuana possession.
