Prince William takes calculated approach to the monarchy
Prince William’s strategic approach revealed
Prince William has been criticized as “work-shy” for decades.
According to Fox News, for many years William has been tagged as "work-shy” however, Dan Wakeford, the founder of celebrity intelligence, told the outlet that he is executing a calculated strategy to protect the crown. "William is extremely good at setting boundaries and not working during the holidays, protecting his kids’ privacy and his wife’s mental health.”
Noting, "There’s some criticism of that. Some critics snipe at that and think that he’s ‘work-shy’ or a little bit lazy. But I think William is working more like a CEO and being very strategic with his time."
"He studies the monarchy in a way to help make it survive and keeps a boundary around his real life and his relationships so that he doesn’t get burned out, and he can do the best job possible," he said.
"And the poll numbers show that he’s extremely popular, and he’s doing a good job," the celebrity branding expert further added.
The royal biographer Christopher Andersen revealed to the outlet, “William is the very antithesis of 'work-shy.'"
Adding, "Does William want to be the first king to run the monarchy like a CEO? Well, it's been called 'The Firm' for decades, hasn't it? The royal family is worth billions, including extensive prime real estate holdings. To say it should be taken seriously as a business enterprise is a colossal understatement."
Echoing a similar perspective, British broadcast and photographer Helena Chard argued while comparing the role of King Charles and Prince William, she said: "King Charles is like the custodian."
"His mission is to preserve and consider a slimmed-down monarchy. Prince William, the strategist, is making the monarchy indispensable for the next 50 years. The traditional charity work is not going anywhere. Charities still need royal visits to raise money and profile. However, there will be more efficient, targeted visits," she added.
It is pertinent to mention that alongside royal engagement, Prince William introduced the Homewards homelessness program on June 26, 2023.
