Meghan Markle gives her take on people who ‘have it worse than I do’

Meghan Markle became a household name the day she was announced as the fiancé of Prince Harry, the spare to the throne of England.

However, well before that, she has been pretty open about her experiences as a mixed-race kid, teenager and adult.

One of her interviews with Ebony magazine before she even said ‘I do’ in front of the world, saw her get up close and honest.

At the time she explained how ‘torn’ her life had been when she first came to learn her heritage by an African-American mother and Caucasian father—and then later segway-ed into acting.

In her own words she’d feel she was “not black enough” one moment and “not white enough” in the other.

In her effort to explain it more she told the outlet, “I could get into twice as many rooms, but was turned down twice as often as many of my peers. It’s that dichotomy that we can go through, ‘What are you? Where do you fit in? I want to put you in this box and I want you to stay there’.”

However she did make one thing clear and its, “I never want to complain. I get that so many people have it worse than I do.” But “it took me deep into my 20s to come to the realisation that I am ‘enough’ exactly as I am, and I don’t have to be more or less of anything for other people” – which is where she concluded by saying.
