CoreWeave has officially announced its expansion into Indonesia, marking the specialized AI cloud provider's very first data center footprint in the Asia-Pacific region.

AI cloud computing company CoreWeave said on Tuesday it is expanding into Indonesia and adding three new facilities in the country, marking the firm's first data-center presence in the Asia Pacific region.

The project includes three new facilities totaling 360 megawatts of contracted IT power.

As reported by the company, the CoreWeave will directly own and operate the compute environments across all three locations, bringing its full AI cloud stack to startups, enterprises, labs, and governments throughout Southeast Asia.

The move is designed to address accelerating regional demand for localized AI cloud services, addressing data locality requirements and latency-sensitive workloads outside of CoreWeave's traditional U.S. and European markets.

Alongside the physical infrastructure, the cloud AI platform plans to recruit and train an on-the-ground technical team in Indonesia to operate the facilities and foster local talent development.

CoreWeave has benefited from a surge in demand for AI cloud infrastructure globally, as tech companies rush to secure the hardware and cloud capacity needed to develop and run AI systems.

The company has been investing heavily in its data-center footprint to cater to the demand.

As informed, CoreWaves Indonesia data centers are expected to come online in 2028.
