Revolut partners with OpenAI on ChatGPT subscription deal: What to know
Revolut will offer free subscription access to ChatGPT’s premium tier for 12 months
Fintech Revolut has reportedly partnered with OpenAI to offer ChatGPT Go access as an exclusive benefit across its subscription plans, marking a significant move in providing its retail customers' access to the tool through this joint collaboration.
ChatGPT Go is primarily a medium-tier subscription for the AI chatbot that commonly costs users a monthly fee of £7. Users get access to higher usage limits than a free account as well as file uploads, document analysis and image generation.
Revolut seeks to offer retail customers
Revolut will offer retail customers on its Metal and Ultra subscription free access to the premium tier of ChatGPT for 12 months despite the two cheaper Revolut subscriptions, offering ChatGPT Go for three and six months respectively.
In this connection, partner and general manager for premium products at Revolut said: “ We want to empower our customers with tools that are part of their entire day beyond finance.”
“ We have been building an extensive portfolio that supports how they travel, work, connect and take care of their health. Today AI is not a nice to have, it's an essential for everyday life.”
Crucially, this is not Revolut's first significant move into AI for the company has built its own in-app assistant called AIR and is reported to depend on OpenAI’s models behind the scenes for fraud monitoring and customer support.
In light of the current deal, the OpenAI appeal reads: “ We are excited to partner with Revolut and bring ChatGPT Go to millions of customers worldwide,” said Emmanuel Marill.
OpenAI’s managing director for EMEA in a crucial deal that puts its products in front of tens of millions of users in a single stroke.
The Revolut deal is a compelling business trade as the bank gets a membership incentive; OpenAI gets millions of qualified leads once the free months end, and the customer gets up to a year of ChatGPT through a subscription they already hold.
Nonetheless, tens of millions of Revolut customers are about to find ChatGPT Go waiting in their applications, and OpenAI has just landed one of a massive consumer distribution deal-one membership tier at a time.
