Angela Levin, a royal expert and major critic of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, has reacted as the Duke and other claimants facing paying millions of dollars towards the legal costs of Associated Newspapers after they lost their privacy lawsuits.

Earlier this month, a judge at London's High Court comprehensively ruled against Prince Harry, singer Elton John and five other British figures, rejecting allegations that the Mail titles had engaged in widespread unlawful activities, such as phone hacking.

At a hearing on Wednesday to determine how much of the Mail's legal costs the claimants should pay, the court heard that Associated had incurred a legal bill of £34.5 million ($45.8 million), while Harry and other claimants only have an insurance policy which covers £16 million.

Meanwhile, the Associated Newspapers said it was seeking an interim payment of £10 million.

Commenting on the ruling, Angela tweeted, “Prince Harry has been desperate to win his court case against the Mail's publisher partly he said because the Mail upset his wife Meghan.

“His belief in himself encouraged other claimants like Doreen Lawrence and Sir Elton John and he even dared tell the eminent judge Mr Justice Nicklin his verdict was a "whitewash".”

She further said, “The judge dismissed all 97 allegations by the claimants. Now Harry and Co could be faced with an £18m legal bill.”
