Prince Harry’s visit to the UK appears to have sparked a lot of debate, not only among critics but also commentators who are feeling a lot of pity for his father, given his likely warring emotions.

In the eyes of one such expert, Robert Jobson, the King appears to be caught between a rock and a hard place – i.e. not only fighting cancer but also feeling potentially emotional about his other set of grandkids who live on the other side of the pond.

It is in view of this, that the commentator touched on the possible whiplash he’s reeling from and told all this to Royalist host Tom Sykes.

During their conversation he was quoted saying, “I think that he’s been blinded by a father’s love of the son. I think he’s impacted by the fact that he’s living with cancer, without doubt. And that the emotion is there to see his grandchildren.”

For those unversed with the UK trip, it was the first time since infancy that Princess Lilibet visited her grandfather, and even Prince Archie last came when he was still in his toddler years.

Part of the, very vocal reason, that this was a once-in-a-blue moon trip is because of Prince Harry’s issues with taxpayer-funded security. The last time he even brought Meghan prior to this was for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

In the eyes of Mr Jobson, this set of emotions needs to be dealt with also because, “I think that the king has got to wise up. Now, because he needs money, and because he needs brand and because he needs exposure, he’s sucking up to his father again” and that’s a “very dangerous situation” he warned as well.

Given the current circumstances Mr Jobson also issued a plea to the monarch, saying, “his father has to realize he’s not just Pa, he’s not just grandpa, he is the king. And he is there as a guardian and also a steward to the crown for his other son, Prince William, who is the heir to the throne.”

But that’s not all, in his view, another issue is that Prince Harry’s past behavior likely hasn’t been forgotten by Brits and this “slow creep” of allowing back Harry back into the fold “is not what the public in this country want.” Many feel Harry has “trashed the monarchy.....cashed in on the monarchy.”

Near the end he also referenced an earlier mention of the King not caring about polls or rankings when it came time to measure his standing with the public, because he preferred instead the ‘long-game’ but Mr Jobson reminded him near the end by saying, “look at the long game as well as the polls sometimes, your majesty.”
