A royal expert has claimed that King Charles meeting with estranged son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle may have ultimately weakened the king's position.

During appearance on TalkTV, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield has claimed, "I think that King Charles's meeting with Prince Harry ultimately…makes him look weak.”

The royal expert continued Harry’s father may have wanted to protect his long-term legacy.

Kinsey says King Charles was likely trying to show he had done everything possible to repair the relationship with his youngest son.

She said, "I wonder if King Charles, legacy-wise, wants to be seen as the bigger person.”

Schofield also alleged that Prince Harry and Markle "are never going to be," adding that the king may have deliberately chosen to put past disagreements aside.

However, the expert argued that the meeting may have benefited Meghan and Harry more than King Charles.

It effectively gave Harry "the win that he needed," the expert claimed.

King Charles, in the presence of Queen Camilla met Prince Harry, his wife Meghan and their two children Archie and Lilibet last Friday at his Highgrove estate in western England.

It was Charles first meeting with his grandchildren Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, since 2022.

The palace source described the meeting as a private family occasion and said no pictures, video or further details would be released.
