Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan traveled to Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, England, and brought along their kids, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, to see King Charles III and Queen Camilla for the first time in over four years.

This trip came after years of Harry fighting for state-backed police protections for his family during visits to the United Kingdom, a benefit that was taken away from the Sussexes when they stepped down from their positions as senior royals in 2020.

However, despite a court decision authoritatively denying them of these protections early last year, the family still decided to make a quiet trip to see the monarch and his wife last Friday.

It was a rare reunion for Harry and his father, who endured years of conflict before beginning to repair their relationship in 2025.

Yet, while the father and son may be healing some wounds, it seems that Harry’s relationship with his brother, Prince William, is still quite “broken.”

According to a new report from PEOPLE, Harry and his only sibling did not see each other during the Duke of Sussex’s time in England.

“It’s so broken,” a source said of the brothers’ relationship. “I thought it would have perhaps eased a little bit by now, to be honest. But there has been no movement, especially on William’s side. There is no contact.”

Harry and William’s once-close dynamic has been strained ever since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left London. Then, their rift grew when Harry released his tell-all memoir, Spare, in 2023.

“[Princess] Diana would be devastated that it has turned out like this, particularly because [the brothers] were once so close,” royal author and historian Simon Vigar told PEOPLE magazine.

Despite all these tensions, Harry emphasized last year that he would like to mend ties with his family. “I would love reconciliation with my family,” he told the BBC in May 2025. “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”
