Matt Damon gets emotional about his daughters as he enters a new era of life
Matt Damon has embraced a new chapter in his life.
The Odyssey actor shared that he is entering a "new phase of life" as he prepares to become an empty-nester.
In an interview with People Magazine, Damon reflected on balancing Hollywood success with his family life which includes wife Luciana Damon and their four daughters. The Oscar winner admitted that time has flown by as he cherish remaining years with their two youngest daughters still at home.
He said, "Having two older kids who are out of the nest and knowing how fast these final years go, we’re trying to be mindful of holding onto what we can."
Notably, Matt Damon is gearing up for one of the biggest roles of his career professionally as he portrays Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's epic adaptation The Odyssey.
Looking back on his decades long career alongside best friend Ben Affleck before Good Will Hunting launched them to stardom, Damon said, "It’s just been an incredible journey. Some of the movies didn’t work, but ideally, in another 10 years, I’d like to just keep doing things that I can feel really proud of."
Now, the actor said that he "just try to think about what I can control and what I can’t."
"And instead of railing against the gods about things that I can’t control, being fastidious and intentional about what I can and accepting what I can’t," Damon added.
