Eric Dane's widow Rebecca Gayheart breaks silence on daughters' grief after actor's death: 'Hurt for my girls'
The actress and model marked her and Eric Dane's daughters' first Father's Day without him
Eric Dane's widow, Rebecca Gayheart, is expressing her grief as their daughters miss their dad on Father's Day.
This Sunday marked Eric's girls' first Father's Day without their dad as the Grey's Anatomy actor passed away in February after an intense battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Rebecca took to her Instagram account on Monday to post a throwback picture of their daughters, Billie Beatrice Dane, now 16, and Georgia Geraldine, now 14, sitting with Eric along with a heartbreaking note.
"I hurt for my girls today," she wrote over the picture.
"It's a 'first' of many to come. I know Eric is looking out for them every day," the mom of two added.
She concluded the note with a bandaged heart emoji.
This came days after the doting mom celebrated 14-year-old daughter Georgia's middle school graduation.
She posted glimpses of her and Eric's daughter's big day on her social media, in which Georgia can be seen walking onto the stage and receiving a sunflower in a pink mini dress paired with a black cropped sweater.
The proud mom wrote, “Congratulations Georgia!"
"I am so beyond proud of you — your tenacity, grit and grace has been on full display. Welcome to high school — I have no doubt you’re ready."
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum also praised her daughter for winning an MVP trophy for beach volleyball. She wrote, "I am so excited for you ! Not pictured is your MVP trophy for beach volleyball. Bravo."
Rebecca concluded the post by writing, "Bravo, congratulations and I love you so much."
