Who will represent Iran at US deal signing? Deputy FM reveals key name
US-Iran is likely to be signed on Friday in Switzerland
The US-Iran highly anticipated peace is scheduled to be signed on Friday, as confirmed by President Donald Trump on Sunday. In the midst of growing hype, the Deputy Foreign Minister reveals a key name who will represent Iran at the event.
According to deputy FM as reported by Tasnim news agency, Iran’s top negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf will be present for the signing of an interim agreement to end the war with the US.
From the US side, Vice President JD Vance would attend the signing ceremony in Geneva, as confirmed by President Trump. Majid Takht-Ravanchi stated that the specific location and the format for the signing ceremony have yet to be determined.
"Switzerland will be the venue for the signing, but the exact location has not yet been determined. The next round of negotiations will begin immediately after the signing," said Majid Takht-Ravanchi, according to state television.
The deal is highly significant as it comes after three months of long war in the Middle East. In his Truth Social post, President Trump posted on Sunday, “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!”
According to Trump, the “great peace deal” between Tehran and Washington will pave the way towards reopening the Strait of Hormuz on Friday. “I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of Hormuz, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the US naval blockade.”
However, the key postulates of the deal are still unknown and might be shared after signing the deal as per officials.
