NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani spills major details about Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce's wedding
The politician seemingly confirmed timing of Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce's nuptials
New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani has just spilled major details about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming Nuptials.
The mayor, while addressing the security measures taken for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the city, confirmed that the football game and the pop star’s wedding are “happening at the same time."
Mamdani told reporters in a press conference on Monday, “I am fully confident in the work of the NYPD, as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience."
“We are the biggest city in the country,” he continued. “We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one. We know it coincides with the Knicks’ [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time — and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”
The politician gushed over last weekend’s celebrations that took place after the Knicks' historic win and the Brazil vs. Morocco World Cup game at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
“One of the beautiful things about Saturday was you walked around the city, you saw people in Brazil jerseys, you saw people in Morocco jerseys, you saw people in Knicks jerseys,” Mamdani raved.
He added, “It feels like a city that is coming to life.”
The reporter then asked Mamdani if he had received the invitation to Swift and Kelce’s big day.
Mamdani replied, “No and no."
He then continued to show love for their highly anticipated nuptials, “I wish them a lovely wedding. I’ll listen to ‘Only the Young’ at home on my own."
It was previously reported that Kelce and Swift's wedding is reportedly all set to take place at Madison Square Garden on July 3.
