Adele's fiance Rich Paul reveals how their 'cordial' bond turned romantic

Adele's fiance, Rich Paul, is sharing for the first time how he and the British singer met.

​The 38-year-old singer and 45-year-old sports agent began dating back in 2021 but confirmed their romance three years after lots of speculation. Adele confirmed in August 2024 that she and Rich are engaged.

​As the couple apparently keep their romance under wraps, now Rich has shared some unknown insights about the beginning of their relationship.

“I had known her for some time,” Rich shared on the June 9th episode of Craig Melvin's Glass Half Full podcast. “You know, just when you’re in these circles, man, you’re in these circles."

​Rich went on to say, “But I never tried to get fresh with people that’s in comfortable circles because they always have to deal with that, so that was never my thing.”

​“It was really something that happened very organically, really,” he added.

​The founder and chief executive officer of Klutch Sports Group also shared that he never actively listened to Adele's music, though he did "hear the monster hits.”

​"Obviously, you know, I’m pretty on the pulse of a lot of different things, and so, you know, some of the songs, the big songs, but I didn’t know all of the joints that I know now,” Rich explained.

​Rich also recalled how he and Adele used to meet randomly on different occasions, which solidified their bond.

​“We’re all in the same vicinity, we’re all in the same circles, and, you know, we’re hanging and whatnot,” he looked back. “We just used to always see each other, laugh and joke. It was just cordial, really, just cordial.”

​He jokingly added that their bond remained cordial “until it became not so cordial" and Adele found him interesting.
