Saying Richard Gere is proud of his son will not suffice for his feelings about his son Homer James Jigme Gere’s knack for acting.

While conversing with PEOPLE magazine to promote the forthcoming sophomore season of The Agency, the 76-year-old American actor opened up about his son’s successful career in the entertainment world.

Richard told the outlet, "I'm proud of him on two levels. One, he's really good. He really kind of preternaturally knows what he's doing. But he's also handling it really well.”

The proud father went on to sing praises by saying, “He's a good kid. He's a really good young man who kind of gets it, and this is not an easy job. Not everyone can function within it. So, I think he can stay."

For those unaware, Homer recently played the role of Dylan Reid in just two episodes of Euphoria, getting a chance to shoot an intimate scene with Sydney Sweeney.

His other project is the Ryan Murphy-produced series The Shards, which casts him as Robert Mallory with Kaia Gerber. The erotic thriller and coming of age series is based on the book by Bret Easton Ellis.

"I still need to see his second episode of Euphoria, but he has this big thing coming up with Ryan Murphy, and he just finished shooting a film with Oliver Stone. So, I can retire now. I'm passing the torch,” Richard laughingly quipped.

It is pertinent to mention that The Agency will be released on Paramount+ on June 21, 2026, while The Shards is set to hit on FX in August of this year; however, there is no confirmed release date.
