Kanye West faces fresh ban calls ahead of Netherlands shows

Stop Kanye West entry.

This is what the Central Jewish Council, or CJO, is demanding ahead of the controversial rapper's shows in the Netherlands.

The focus on Ye's performance in the country gained renewed attention after the Dutch government refused to ban him, citing a lack of legal grounds.

Here's what its Deputy Prime Minister Bart van den Brink said, "Solid grounds are needed to bar people from entering (the Netherlands). We have not found those in the analyses that were conducted."

"His past statements are not, at this moment, a reason to deny him entry."

But CJO wants the Dutch government to deny Ye entry on similar grounds to those Britain and Italy previously used.

Its chairman, Chanan Hertzberger, said there is a likelihood that West's presence could threaten public order.

Not to mention, he said the Jewish community in the Netherlands has strong reservations about the rapper's shows.

CJO was not the only group calling for a ban on Ye.

Several Dutch lawmakers, similarly, demanded that the Donda hitmaker be denied entry into the country.

But the government cited the Schengen Agreement, stating that it is bound to allow the free movement of people across 29 European countries.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Marcouch, the Arnhem mayor - in whose city West is set to perform - slammed the rapper.

However, he added that the authorities are confident they can maintain public order amid Ye's concerts.

West will perform on June 6 and June 8 at the Gelredome in Arnhem.
