Matt Brown's brother, Bear Brown, finally broke the silence on the tragic death of the Alaskan Bush People actor.

In a TikTok video shared on Saturday, Bear confirmed that his brother died by suicide. He further shared that Matt was found dead in the Okanogan River in Washington and his younger brother Noah Brown pulled the reality star's body from the water and identified him.

“I didn’t think he would hurt himself, it does look like the injury is self-inflicted,” Bear said in the clip.

“Obviously, the coroner has to look at him and stuff, but I thought you guys should know it is him," he continued.

Bear also took a moment to ask his followers to be respectful to his family.

“Sometimes words can hurt more than fists can and a lot of people left negative comments on Matt’s stuff too,” he said. “One of his last videos, he’s actually talking about how negative people were on his posts.”

“You guys should keep in mind that people on the other side of your screens, people you’re watching a video of, they’re real people too," he added.

Recently, Bear revealed that Matt "has been struggling for a long time with alcohol and with drugs."

He further shared that his brother was “going through a really bad breakup” with “a girl he really liked.”

“I guess he had been drinking too much. I don’t know all the details to it,” he added.
