Sarah Jessica Parker calls 'Sex and the City' costume fittings 'ridiculous'
Sarah Jessica Parker gets candid about her 'Sex and the City' filming days
Sarah Jessica Parker, who began playing Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City in 1998, got candid about her late night filming days.
Speaking with People Magazine, the actress shared that while working on the hit series and its revival, And Just Like That, she would have some "ridiculous" costume fittings with designer Molly Rogers.
Parker admitted that she would "put anything on" during fittings with Rogers. "It would be 2 or 3 or 4 a.m., and we had just finished shooting, and I was in a fitting and they would have some of the most insane stuff," the 61-year-old revealed.
Adding, "There are Polaroids. There is documentation of these things. I would put anything on for them, because you never know."
Parker recalls, "It was so much fun, and none of us had kids, none of us had to run home for any reason."
Noting that Rogers has connections "all over the globe," Parker said, "She's like, ‘There's a woman. I met a woman. She's in Albany.’ It's true. She'd go into people's homes… Digging through some stuff in an attic in Albany or Georgia or somewhere outside London."
Sarah Jessica Parker first played the role in 1998, when the series aired for six seasons through 2004. However, she later reprised the role in two movie continuations that premiered from 2008 and 2010.
Furthermore, the actress also returned to the franchise in the revival which aired from 2021 to 2025.
On the other hand, Molly Rogers was most recently fashion designer for The Devil Wears Prada 2. She worked on the Sex and the City series, movies and revival. Also, Rogers won an Emmy for her work in 2002.
